Stéphanie d’Haussy
 

She has been teaching French at the Alliance Française - Devon, since 1998. In 2004, she took on management responsibilities. Her academic background is in History and she graduated from the University of Lyon before studying in Ireland. She completed a PGCE in Modern Languages at the University of Exeter and started teaching French to teenagers and adults. She loves the interaction with the learners, supporting their progress and confidence in the French language.

   
  Alain Pézard
 
Alain grew up in Cluny, Saône et Loire , France. He studied Art at the "Ecole de Beaux Arts" in Dijon and Drama at the Central School of Speech and Drama, London. After working as a lecturer and stage designer, he completed a PGCE in Modern Languages in 1997. He started to teach for Alliance Française - Devon in 2005.
   
  Séverine Barès
 

Séverine has worked for the Alliance Française network since 2000 in France, Switzerland and Ireland before joining us in 2002. Séverine comes from the South West of France and she studied at Bordeaux University where she took a Master’s degree in teaching French as a Foreign Language. Her teaching style is relaxed, formative and lively and she is very popular amongst her students.
   
  Marie-Christine Chaix-Capel
 

Born in Martinique, Marie gained her Masters in English Studies at Paris X University. She first taught French at Plymouth University before completing a PGCE in Modern Languages at Exeter University in 1996 and teaching in secondary schools. In 2005 she gained the Interpreters Diploma for the Home Office in French and Spanish. Since 2009, Marie enjoys teaching at the Alliance Française because the atmosphere is informal but conducive to learning as the groups are small and adult teaching is very rewarding.

   
  Françoise Davies
 

Françoise is from Paris but has lived in Provence and in England for long periods of time. As a qualified accountant she taught bookkeeping and French at Winchester prison in the eighties. Later, she started to offer French tuition from home. Returning to Provence in 2001 she worked for a language school organising intensive French courses for people coming from all over the world. Back to England, she has been teaching for the Alliance Française - Devon since September 2010. She enjoys it very much and loves to transmit everything regarding France and its language.
